29 September 2020, in a closed restaurant in Dunkirk. My friend and awesome trumpet player David Langlet and I wanted to go busking in town, but it was raining. He called a friend who owned a restaurant and arranged for us to jam there. There were probably about 10 people who sneaked in to listen. The whole session was completely unprepared and improvised. 'Blue' is my favourite. David had never heard the song and immediately made it his own, giving it that priceless 'Miles Davies' sheen. Ever since I heard Tutu, I have been a great admirer of Miles Davis, and David made me feel like Miles was playing! I am very proud of this track. You will find a very different (blues rock) version of the song 'Blue' on the album 'Blue Funk' I recorded with my power trio GILES.
